The poem Cinderella tells the truth about temporary happiness that most people are fantasizing about. Anne Sexton's poetry is entertaining since it is a form of escapism. She knows well how to use and present ideas that will make the readers understand reality. She's right at telling us things that pertain mostly to experiences. Well, she used Cinderella as a perfect example of how we wanted something to happen in our lives. We often overlook what we do to be happy rather than just enjoying things in life. The poem made me realize that most of the things that I desire will remain just an imagination if not given any effort. We fantasize so much that we ended up being disappointed in life. Something like we don't have that others have. That's one of the examples that the author wanted us to see. We tend to change ourselves for someone to be accepted, just like the stepsisters. But in the end, you'll only realize that it's all just a waste of time. We are deceived by the things that we think we want, but we don't really need. So, it's wasting time and money plus the effort. Just like the Social Media Platforms, those influencers and people that you think are perfect. Those aren't real. Those people are just taking a glimpse of happiness but not really creating a lasting one. The poem relates to the part where we're making a decision based on short-lived joy. Some can be beneficial, and they've chosen that without any remorse. Yet others are struggling to know what to do. So, I concluded that no matter how you perceive what happily-ever-after is, happiness is still happiness. It is not considered as temporary nor permanent. That’s all.
